  • Chime Repeater (included, pre-paired)
  • Smartphone with Aqara Home app
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network
  • HomeKit setup code (on Chime Repeater)
  • Six AA batteries for doorbell

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Download Aqara Home App: Install from App Store or Google Play.
  2. Power On Chime Repeater First: Plug in the Chime Repeater and wait for it to initialize.
  3. Add Chime Repeater: In the app, tap (+) and add the Chime Repeater to your network.
  4. Connect to Wi-Fi: Select your 2.4GHz network. Keep router within 7m of chime for best results.
  5. Install Doorbell Battery: Insert six AA batteries into the doorbell. It will auto-connect to the Chime Repeater.
  6. Bind to HomeKit: Open Apple Home app, scan the HomeKit code on the Chime Repeater.
  7. Mount Doorbell: Install at your front door, keeping within 5m of the Chime Repeater.
  8. Configure Settings: Set up motion detection, face recognition, and notification preferences.

Troubleshooting

  • Doorbell and Chime are pre-paired: They cannot be used with other devices - must be used together.
  • 2.4GHz only: Does not support 5GHz or dual-band single SSID networks.
  • Keep doorbell within 5m of chime: For stable connection between the two devices.
  • HomeKit uses more battery: HomeKit Secure Video recording increases battery consumption.
  • Turn off indicator light in HomeKit: Recommended for proper sync with Aqara app.
