What's in the Box
Before you begin installing your Bosch BCC100 Connected Control Thermostat, verify that your package includes the following items: the BCC100 thermostat display unit, the mounting backplate, a wiring harness adapter, mounting screws and wall anchors, a small bubble level, and the quick-start guide. If any components are missing, contact Bosch support before proceeding with the installation.
Prerequisites
The Bosch BCC100 is designed for 24V HVAC systems and supports most conventional heating and cooling setups, including heat pumps and multi-stage systems. Before installation, confirm the following:
- Your HVAC system uses 24V wiring (not high-voltage line systems like baseboard heaters)
- You have a C-wire (common wire) available at your thermostat location — the BCC100 requires a C-wire for power and does not include a battery backup or power adapter
- Your home Wi-Fi network operates on the 2.4 GHz band, as the BCC100 does not support 5 GHz connections
- You have downloaded the Bosch Home Connect app on your iOS or Android device
- Your circuit breaker for the HVAC system is accessible so you can safely cut power during installation
Step-by-Step Installation
- Turn off power: Switch off the circuit breaker that controls your HVAC system. Verify the system is fully powered down before touching any wiring.
- Remove your old thermostat: Take a photo of the existing wiring for reference. Label each wire with the terminal letter it connects to (R, W, Y, G, C, etc.). Carefully disconnect the wires and remove the old thermostat and its mounting plate.
- Mount the backplate: Hold the BCC100 backplate against the wall and use the included bubble level to ensure it is straight. Mark screw holes, drill if necessary, and secure the backplate with the provided screws and anchors.
- Connect the wiring: Route your labeled HVAC wires through the backplate opening. Connect each wire to its matching terminal on the backplate. The Bosch BCC100 uses push-in connectors, so simply press each stripped wire firmly into the correct port. Double-check that R, W, Y, G, and C wires are all seated properly.
- Attach the thermostat display: Align the display unit with the backplate and press gently until it clicks into place. The thermostat should power on within a few seconds once the HVAC breaker is restored.
- Restore power: Turn the HVAC circuit breaker back on. The BCC100 screen should illuminate and begin its initial setup wizard.
App Pairing and Wi-Fi Setup
Once the thermostat powers on, follow the on-screen prompts to select your language and configure your HVAC system type. When the thermostat reaches the Wi-Fi setup screen, open the Bosch Home Connect app on your phone and create an account or sign in. Select "Add New Device" and choose the BCC100 thermostat from the product list. The app will guide you through connecting the thermostat to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted, and wait for the connection to confirm on both the thermostat and the app.
Smart Home Integration Tips
The Bosch BCC100 works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT for voice control and automation. To enable Alexa or Google control, link your Bosch Home Connect account within the respective smart home app. You can then use voice commands like "Set the thermostat to 72 degrees" or create routines that adjust temperature based on time of day. The BCC100 also supports geofencing through the Bosch Home Connect app, allowing automatic temperature adjustments when you leave or arrive home.
Quick Troubleshooting
If the thermostat does not power on after installation, verify that the C-wire is properly connected and that the HVAC breaker is on. If Wi-Fi pairing fails, ensure you are connecting to a 2.4 GHz network and that the thermostat is within range of your router. A factory reset can be performed from the thermostat's settings menu if needed. For persistent issues, consult the Bosch support line or visit the Bosch Home Connect help center.
