Installing Your Dreo Smart Tower Fan

What You'll Need

  • Fanimation Odyn Smart Ceiling Fan (installed)
  • Smartphone with fanSync WiFi app
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network
  • Bluetooth enabled on phone
  • Wall switch in ON position

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Important: Wall switch controlling fan power MUST always be in the ON position. No dimmers allowed.
  2. Install fanSync Receiver: Wire the fanSync WiFi receiver into your ceiling fan's canopy (if not pre-installed).
  3. Download fanSync App: Install from Google Play or App Store.
  4. Enable Bluetooth: Turn on Bluetooth in your phone's settings.
  5. Open App: Launch fanSync and create an account or log in.
  6. Add Device: Tap to add a new fan and follow pairing instructions.
  7. Connect to Wi-Fi: Select your 2.4GHz network and enter the password.
  8. Name Your Fan: Assign a name and complete setup.

Troubleshooting

  • Setup timeout/fails: May be weak Wi-Fi signal. Contact provider and try pairing again.
  • Fan not responding: Check phone has Wi-Fi or cellular signal. Verify operating software is current.
  • Always keep wall switch ON: Turning off wall switch disconnects fan from network.
  • No dimmer switches: Fan requires true on/off switch, not any type of dimmer.
  • Voice assistant linking: Go to Settings > Connections in fanSync app to link Alexa, Google, or IFTTT.
