What's in the Box

Your Eufy Video Doorbell 2K (Battery) package includes the doorbell camera unit, a mounting bracket, a wedge mount for angled installations, a rechargeable battery (built-in), a USB-C charging cable, screws and wall anchors, a wiring harness for optional wired installation, a chime unit (in some packages), and a quick-start guide. The doorbell features 2K resolution video, HDR, and AI-powered human detection with on-device processing.

Prerequisites

Download the eufy Security app on your iOS or Android device and create or sign into your eufy account. The Eufy Video Doorbell 2K connects directly to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and does not require a HomeBase hub, though it can work with one if you already own it. Fully charge the doorbell using the USB-C cable before installation — the initial charge takes about six hours. If you plan to wire the doorbell to your existing transformer (16–24V AC), have a screwdriver and voltage tester ready and turn off the breaker before working with wiring.

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Fully charge the doorbell via USB-C before mounting. The LED indicator turns solid green when charging is complete.
  2. If using wired power, turn off the breaker for your existing doorbell. Remove the old doorbell and note the two wires. Connect them to the wiring harness terminals on the Eufy mounting bracket. Polarity does not matter.
  3. Mount the bracket to the wall using the included screws. For brick or stucco, drill pilot holes and use the wall anchors. Use the wedge mount behind the bracket if you need to angle the camera toward your walkway.
  4. Snap the doorbell onto the mounting bracket. It clicks into place and is secured by a locking screw at the bottom to prevent removal.
  5. Restore the breaker if using wired power. The doorbell will power on automatically.

App Pairing and Configuration

Open the eufy Security app, tap the "+" icon, and select "Video Doorbell 2K (Battery)." Press the sync button on the doorbell when prompted. The app will walk you through connecting the doorbell to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Once connected, configure motion detection zones to focus on your porch and walkway, set the human detection sensitivity, and choose your preferred recording mode (event-only or continuous if wired). If your package includes the wireless chime, add it through the app as a separate accessory.

Smart Home Integration Tips

The Eufy Video Doorbell 2K supports Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit. With Alexa, the doorbell can announce visitors on Echo devices and show live video on Echo Show displays. In Google Home, view the live feed on Nest Hub or Chromecast-enabled devices. For HomeKit, add the doorbell using the setup code found in the eufy Security app — it will appear in the Apple Home app with support for notifications that include snapshot thumbnails. HomeKit Secure Video is available if you have a compatible iCloud storage plan.

Quick Troubleshooting

If the doorbell does not enter pairing mode, press and hold the sync button for five seconds. If Wi-Fi connection fails, ensure you are selecting a 2.4 GHz network and not 5 GHz. For wired installations where the doorbell does not power on, verify your transformer outputs 16–24V AC with a multimeter. If motion alerts are not working, check that human detection is enabled and the detection zones cover the correct area. Battery drain faster than expected on battery mode usually means too many motion events — narrow the detection zones to reduce unnecessary triggers.
