Step-by-Step Installation

2. Install mounting hooks at your planned attachment points. Screw cup hooks into wooden beams, fence posts, or pergola rafters. For masonry surfaces, use appropriate anchors. Space hooks every 8 to 10 feet to prevent excessive sagging, and add a hook at each corner or direction change.
3. Starting at the control box end, hang the string lights along your route, draping them from hook to hook. Allow a gentle drape between hooks for an appealing catenary curve rather than pulling the string completely taut.
