What's in the Box

Your Honeywell Home T10 Pro Smart Thermostat package includes the thermostat display unit, a UWP (Universal Wall Plate) backplate, mounting screws, wire labels, and an installation guide. The T10 Pro is Honeywell's top-tier professional smart thermostat, designed for complex HVAC systems including multi-stage heating and cooling, heat pumps, dual fuel, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and ventilation control. It connects via WiFi and is managed through the Honeywell Home app. Optional Smart Room Sensors provide multi-room temperature and humidity monitoring.

Before You Begin

  • Download the Honeywell Home app from the App Store or Google Play
  • Create or log into your Honeywell Home account
  • Turn off your HVAC system at the breaker or furnace switch before handling any wiring
  • Photograph your current thermostat's wiring clearly for reference
  • Verify system compatibility — the T10 Pro supports conventional, heat pump, dual fuel, and multi-stage systems
  • Confirm a C-wire is available. The T10 Pro requires a C-wire, and given the advanced systems it controls, running a proper C-wire (rather than using an adapter) is strongly recommended
  • If your system includes a humidifier, dehumidifier, or ventilator, have the wiring documentation for those accessories ready

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Remove the old thermostat. Pull off the faceplate and label every wire with the provided stickers before disconnecting. Include wires for accessories like humidifiers (HUM) and dehumidifiers (DEHUM) if present. Remove the old mounting plate from the wall.
  2. Mount the UWP backplate. Thread all labeled wires through the backplate. Use a level to position it on the wall, mark screw holes, drill pilot holes if necessary, and secure the plate with the provided screws.
  3. Connect all wires. Attach each labeled wire to its matching terminal on the UWP. Standard terminals include R (power), C (common), W1/W2 (heat stages), Y1/Y2 (cool stages), G (fan), and O/B (heat pump reversing valve). For accessories: connect humidifier wires to HUM, dehumidifier wires to DEHUM, and ventilator wires to VENT terminals. Push each wire firmly until it clicks.
  4. Configure the Installer Setup (ISP). The T10 Pro has an extensive installer setup menu that must be configured for your specific system. Access it during initial setup or by pressing and holding the setup button. Set the system type, number of heating and cooling stages, fan control, and accessory settings. This step is critical — incorrect ISP settings can prevent the system from operating properly.
  5. Attach the thermostat. Snap the T10 Pro display onto the UWP backplate until it clicks securely. The touchscreen should activate within moments.
  6. Restore HVAC power. Turn the breaker or furnace switch back on. The T10 Pro will power up and continue its configuration process.

WiFi and App Setup

  1. Connect to WiFi. From the thermostat's touchscreen, navigate to WiFi settings, select your 2.4GHz network, and enter your password. The T10 Pro does not support 5GHz WiFi.
  2. Register in the Honeywell Home app. Tap Add Device in the app and select the T10 Pro. Follow the prompts to link the thermostat to your account.
  3. Add Smart Room Sensors (optional). If you have Honeywell Smart Room Sensors, pair them through the app under the T10 Pro's settings. Place sensors in bedrooms, offices, or other priority rooms. The T10 Pro uses sensor data to optimize heating and cooling based on where people actually are.

Smart Home Integration

The T10 Pro works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit. Link your Honeywell Home account in the respective assistant app. Voice commands let you adjust temperature, switch modes, and check the current indoor temperature. For advanced setups, IFTTT integration allows you to tie the T10 Pro into broader automations, such as turning off the HVAC when smart window sensors detect an open window.

Quick Troubleshooting

If the T10 Pro doesn't power on, check the C-wire at both the thermostat and the furnace control board. If the HVAC system doesn't respond correctly (e.g., heat runs when cooling is called for), verify the Installer Setup parameters match your system — an incorrect system type or stage configuration is the most common cause. If WiFi won't connect, confirm you're on a 2.4GHz network. For systems with accessories, make sure the humidifier or dehumidifier settings in the ISP are enabled and the wires are in the correct terminals.
