Step-by-Step Setup
- Check door compatibility: Ensure you have a standard deadbolt mounted separately from your handle. Door hole must be 2-1/8" (54mm) or 1-1/2" (38mm) diameter.
- Remove existing deadbolt: Unscrew and remove your current deadbolt assembly from both sides of the door.
- Install the latch: Insert the new latch into the edge of the door with the tapered side facing the direction the door closes.
- Mount the exterior keypad: Feed the cable through the door hole and position the exterior assembly. Ensure proper alignment.
- Attach interior assembly: Connect the cable to the interior mounting plate and secure with screws.
- Install batteries: Insert 4 AA batteries into the interior battery compartment.
- Download Kwikset app: Install from App Store or Google Play and create an account.
- Add lock to app: Follow the in-app guided setup to connect your lock via WiFi.
- Create user codes: Set up your master code and additional user codes (supports up to 250 codes).

Troubleshooting
- Lock not detecting WiFi: Power cycle by removing and replacing the battery pack. Ensure your router broadcasts 2.4GHz (not 5GHz only).
- WiFi signal weak: Consider a WiFi extender between your router and the lock location.
- Keypad not responding: Check battery level and ensure batteries are properly installed.
- Lock not extending fully: Check strike plate alignment and ensure the door closes properly without resistance.
