Step-by-Step Setup

2. Starting from the controller end near the power outlet, hang the string along your planned route. Leave a gentle droop between mounting points for a classic catenary look, or pull taut for a more modern straight-line appearance.
3. Secure the string at each mounting point using the included clips or by looping over hooks. Avoid kinking or sharply bending the cord.
4. Plug the power adapter into a weatherproof outdoor outlet and connect it to the string's controller.
5. The string will power up and enter pairing mode, with the bulbs cycling through colors.
6. Open the LIFX app, tap "Add Device," and select the string lights when they appear.
7. Enter your 2.4GHz WiFi credentials to connect the controller to your network.

Set up sunset-to-bedtime schedules using the LIFX app's built-in sunrise and sunset automation that adjusts throughout the year. Use voice commands like "Hey Google, turn on the patio lights" or "Alexa, set the deck to party mode." Create HomeKit scenes that activate the string lights as part of an "Entertaining" scene along with outdoor speakers and other smart devices. Quick Troubleshooting

If the string doesn't power up, check that the power adapter is plugged into a working outlet and securely connected to the controller.
