Installing Your Lutron Caseta Wireless Smart Dimmer Switch

What You'll Need

• Lutron Caseta Wireless Smart Dimmer
• Phillips head screwdriver
• Wire strippers/connectors
• Voltage tester
• Lutron Caseta Smart Bridge (optional, for app/voice control)
• Smartphone with Lutron app (if using Bridge)

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Turn off power: Switch off the circuit breaker for the light you're controlling.
2. Remove existing switch: Unscrew the wall plate and disconnect wires from old switch. Label wires.
3. Identify wires: Locate Line (hot), Load (to light), Ground, and Neutral (if present).
4. Connect Caseta dimmer: Connect black wires to Line and Load (interchangeable on 2-black-wire models). Connect green wire to Ground.
5. Secure in wall box: Carefully push wires back and screw dimmer into place.
6. Attach wall plate: Snap on the included Claro wall plate.
7. Restore power: Turn circuit breaker back on.
8. Test dimmer: Press on/off and use slider to confirm operation.
9. Set up Smart Bridge (optional): Connect Bridge to router, download Lutron app, and add dimmer for smart control.

Troubleshooting

• Lights flickering: Adjust low-end trim using the dimmer's programming buttons. Some LED bulbs may not be compatible.

• Won't pair with Bridge: Ensure dimmer and Bridge are within 30 feet. Press dimmer's on button 3 times to enter pairing mode.
