What You'll Need
- Modern Forms Smart Ceiling Fan (installed)
- Smartphone with Modern Forms app
- 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (5GHz not supported)
- Wi-Fi router SSID and password
Step-by-Step Setup
- Download Modern Forms App: Install from the App Store or Google Play.
- Create Account: Sign up for a Modern Forms account or log in.
- Go to Phone Wi-Fi Settings: Navigate to your device's Wi-Fi settings.
- Find Fan Network: Look for "ModernFormsFan_XX:XX:XX" in available networks.
- Connect to Fan Network: Tap on the fan's network and enter the Smart Fan SSID Password (found in documentation).
- Return to App: Wait for Wi-Fi symbol to appear, then go back to Modern Forms app.
- Select Home Network: Choose your home 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network from the list.
- Enter Password: Input your Wi-Fi password and tap Next to complete connection.

Troubleshooting
- Fan network not appearing: Reset Wi-Fi by holding fan speed up and down for 5 seconds. LED blinks red/green then beeps.
- 5GHz not supported: Ensure you're connecting to a 2.4GHz network. Hidden networks not supported.
- WEP/open networks: These are not supported. Use WPA/WPA2 secured networks.
- App issues: Try uninstalling, rebooting phone, reinstalling, then manually add network name/password.
- Cloud vs local: When away from home, control goes through cloud. Fan must have internet for remote access.
