What You'll Need

  • Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell
  • Existing doorbell wiring (8-24VAC) or Netatmo transformer
  • Smartphone with Netatmo Security app
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network
  • Netatmo account

  • Screwdriver

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Turn off power: Switch off the circuit breaker for your doorbell.
  2. Remove existing doorbell: Unscrew and disconnect your current doorbell button.
  3. Check transformer: If your existing transformer is under 8VAC, install the included Netatmo transformer.
  4. Mount the base plate: Secure the mounting plate to your door frame with the included screws.
  5. Connect wiring: Attach the doorbell wires to the terminals on the back of the Netatmo doorbell.
  6. Attach the doorbell: Snap the doorbell onto the mounting plate.
  7. Restore power: Turn the circuit breaker back on.
  8. Download Netatmo Security app: Install and sign in.
  9. Add the doorbell: Tap "+" → "Video Doorbell" and follow the setup process.
  10. Connect to Wi-Fi: Press the button on the doorbell when prompted and enter your network credentials.
  11. Configure chime: Set up your existing chime or configure app notifications only.

Troubleshooting

  • Doorbell not powering: Check transformer output (8-24VAC required). Verify wiring connections. Install provided transformer if current one is inadequate.
  • Chime not ringing: Ensure mechanical chime is compatible. Check chime wiring. Some digital chimes may not work.
  • Wi-Fi setup fails: Only 2.4GHz supported. Press setup button on doorbell firmly. Move router closer during setup.
  • Person not recognized: Add faces manually via the app. Ensure camera has good lighting. Face must be visible long enough for recognition.
  • Video quality poor: Clean the lens. Check Wi-Fi signal strength. HDR adjusts automatically based on lighting.
