Step-by-Step Setup
- Charge battery: Fully charge before installation.
- Add in Ring app: Tap "+" and select Smart Lighting > Steplight.
- Scan QR code: Located inside battery compartment.
- Insert battery: Install charged battery and close cover.
- Name and group: Assign name and lighting group.
- Mark mounting holes: Hold steplight in position on stairs/deck and mark holes.
- Drill and mount: Install anchors if needed, then screw steplight in place.
- Test: Wave hand in front to trigger motion activation.

Troubleshooting
- Motion too sensitive: Adjust motion settings in Ring app.
- Light too dim: Check battery level. This is accent lighting, not primary illumination.
- Not connecting: Verify Ring Bridge is online and nearby.
- Water getting in: Ensure battery cover is fully closed and sealed.
