Installing Your Shelly Plus 1 Smart Relay

What You'll Need

  • Screwdriver

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Turn off power: Switch off circuit breaker for the circuit.
  2. Access junction box or switch box: Remove cover to access wiring.
  3. Wire the Shelly Plus 1: Connect L (Live), N (Neutral), O (Output to load), and SW (external switch input).
  4. Position relay: Fit behind existing switch or inside junction box.
  5. Restore power: Turn breaker back on. LED will flash.
  6. Download Shelly app: Install from App Store or Google Play.
  7. Add device: The app will discover the Shelly via Bluetooth or WiFi AP.
  8. Connect to WiFi: Enter your 2.4GHz network credentials.
  9. Configure switch type: Set to momentary, toggle, or edge switch as needed.

Troubleshooting

  • Not discovered: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on phone. Move closer to device.

  • Factory reset: Hold button for 10+ seconds until LED flashes rapidly.
