What You'll Need
- Shelly Plus 2PM
- Two circuits to control (or roller shutter/blinds)
- Smartphone with Shelly app
- 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network
- Wire connectors
- Screwdriver and voltage tester
Step-by-Step Setup
- Turn off power: Switch off the circuit breaker for the circuits you'll be controlling.
- Choose mode: The Plus 2PM can operate in relay mode (2 independent switches) or cover mode (roller shutters/blinds).
- For relay mode, wire as follows:
- L → Line (hot)
- N → Neutral
- O1 → Output 1 (to first load)
- O2 → Output 2 (to second load)
- SW1/SW2 → Physical switch inputs
- For cover mode: Connect motor wires to O1 and O2 for up/down control. Add limit switches if your motor doesn't have built-in limits.
- Restore power: Turn on the breaker. The device will power up and create a setup access point.
- Add to Shelly app: Tap "+" or allow auto-discovery. Connect the device to your Wi-Fi network.
- Select device mode: Choose "Switch" for relay mode or "Cover" for blinds/shutters.
- Calibrate covers (if applicable): Run the calibration routine to determine open and closed positions.
- Configure power monitoring: View real-time power usage for each channel.
Key Features
- 2 channels (independent or paired for covers)
- 10A per channel (18A total max)
- Built-in power monitoring per channel
- Roller shutter/blinds control mode
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
- Local processing and scripting
- Position control for covers (0-100%)
- Works with major smart home platforms
Troubleshooting
- Cover calibration fails: Ensure motor operates correctly manually. Check that both output wires are connected. Remove any obstructions from the cover movement.
- Both channels affecting same load: Verify wiring—each O terminal should go to a separate device or motor wire.
- Power reading mismatch: Each channel monitors independently. Ensure the correct channel is associated with each load.
- Cover position inaccurate: Re-run calibration. Ensure the cover reaches full open and full close during calibration.
- Physical switches not working: Configure SW1 and SW2 correctly in settings. Set appropriate button type for your switches.
