Installing Your Tedee PRO Smart Lock

What You'll Need

  • Tedee PRO Smart Lock
  • 3 CR123 batteries (included)
  • Smartphone with Tedee app
  • Compatible euro-profile cylinder (modular cylinder recommended)
  • Apple HomeKit setup code (included)

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Download Tedee app: Install and create your account before physical installation.
  2. Check cylinder: Tedee works best with their modular cylinder. Can work with existing euro cylinders.
  3. Install batteries: Insert 3 CR123 batteries into the Tedee PRO.
  4. Mount the lock: Attach Tedee to your cylinder's interior thumb turn position.
  5. Open Tedee app: Tap "+" to add a new lock.
  6. Pair via Bluetooth: Follow in-app instructions to connect.
  7. Calibrate: Set locked and unlocked positions following app guidance.
  8. Add to Apple Home: Scan the HomeKit QR code from the included card.
  9. Update firmware: Check for and install any firmware updates for latest features.
  10. Configure pull-spring: If your door has a spring latch, enable auto-pull in settings.

Troubleshooting

  • HomeKit pairing fails: Update Tedee firmware first. Factory reset and re-scan QR code.
  • Pull-spring not working: HomeKit doesn't support pull-spring by default. Enable auto-pull in Tedee app or say "unlock" twice to Siri.
  • Remote access unavailable: Requires Apple Home hub (Apple TV, HomePod, or iPad) for remote access via HomeKit.
  • Calibration issues: Ensure cylinder turns smoothly. Check for mechanical resistance.
