What You'll Need
- Tuya WiFi Smart Light Switch
- Neutral wire (required for most models)
- Single-pole light circuit
- Smartphone with Tuya Smart or Smart Life app
- 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network
- Screwdriver and wire strippers
- Voltage tester
Step-by-Step Setup
- Turn off power: Switch off the circuit breaker for the light switch. Verify with voltage tester.
- Remove existing switch: Unscrew faceplate and switch. Note wire positions before disconnecting.
- Identify wires: Locate line (hot), load (to fixture), neutral (white bundle), and ground.
- Connect the Tuya switch:
- L (Line) → Hot wire from panel
- L1 (Load) → Wire to light fixture
- N (Neutral) → Neutral bundle
- Ground → Ground wire
- Secure connections: Use wire nuts and ensure all connections are tight.
- Mount the switch: Carefully fold wires and install switch in electrical box. Attach faceplate.
- Restore power: Turn on circuit breaker. Switch indicator should light up.
- Download Tuya Smart app: Install and create an account.
- Add the switch: Tap "+" → "Electrical" → "Switch" → select your model.
- Enter pairing mode: Press and hold the switch button until the indicator blinks rapidly.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow app prompts to connect to your 2.4GHz network.

Troubleshooting
- Switch not powering on: Verify all wire connections. Ensure neutral is connected. Check circuit breaker is on.
- Won't enter pairing mode: Press and hold for 5+ seconds. If using touch panel, ensure it's responsive. Try power cycling.
- Wi-Fi connection fails: Only 2.4GHz supported. Check password. Move router closer during setup.
- Switch clicks but light doesn't turn on: Check load wire connection. Verify the light bulb works. Test with a different bulb.
- LED indicator too bright: Some models allow dimming the indicator in app settings. Check device settings.
