Ubiquiti UniFi Protect G4 Doorbell Pro
Smartphone with the Ubiquiti app
Screwdriver and drill (for hardwired installation)
Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz recommended)
Existing doorbell wiring (for wired models) or charged battery

Before You Begin

If you're replacing an existing doorbell, turn off power at the circuit breaker. Check that your existing doorbell transformer provides 16-24V AC (required for most video doorbells).

Step 1: Remove Existing Doorbell

Unscrew your old doorbell from the wall. Carefully disconnect the wires, noting their positions. If battery-powered, skip to Step 3.

Step 2: Install the Mounting Bracket

Attach the mounting bracket to the wall using the included screws. For brick or stucco, use the masonry anchors and a drill with a masonry bit.

Step 3: Connect Wires (Wired Models)

Connect the doorbell wires to the terminals on the back of the Ubiquiti UniFi Protect G4 Doorbell Pro. The polarity doesn't matter for most models. Push excess wire into the wall.

Step 4: Attach the Doorbell

Snap or screw the doorbell onto the mounting bracket. Make sure it's secure and level.

Step 5: Restore Power

Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker. The doorbell should light up or chime to indicate it's powered.

Step 6: Set Up in the App

Download the Ubiquiti app and create an account. Add the doorbell and connect it to your Wi-Fi network following the in-app instructions.

Step 7: Configure Settings

Set up motion zones, notification preferences, and video quality settings. Link to your existing chime or set up the digital chime in the app.

Smart Home Integration

The Ubiquiti UniFi Protect G4 Doorbell Pro works with Home Assistant via WiFi. Connect to see doorbell video on smart displays and receive announcements when someone rings.

Troubleshooting

No power: Check transformer voltage (needs 16-24V AC) and wire connections
Poor video at night: Clean the camera lens and check infrared settings
Missed motion events: Adjust motion sensitivity and detection zones
