Installing Your Ultraloq Latch 5 NFC

What You'll Need

  • Ultraloq Latch 5 NFC
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • 4 AA batteries (included)
  • Smartphone with U-tec app
  • WiFi Bridge (included with Finger + WiFi version)

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Check door prep: Requires specific door prep for lever handle installation. Review template included.
  2. Remove existing hardware: Remove your current door handle and deadbolt if present.
  3. Install the latch mechanism: Insert the all-in-one latch assembly into the door edge.
  4. Mount exterior handle: Position the NFC-enabled exterior lever assembly.
  5. Attach interior handle: Connect and secure the interior lever with screws.
  6. Install batteries: Insert 4 AA batteries in the interior battery compartment.
  7. Download U-tec app: Install and create your account.
  8. Pair via Bluetooth: Add the lock in the app and follow pairing instructions.
  9. Register NFC cards/phones: Add NFC key cards or enable phone NFC unlock.
  10. Set up WiFi Bridge (if included): Plug in bridge and connect in app for remote access.

Troubleshooting

  • NFC not reading: Hold card/phone steady against reader for 1-2 seconds. Check card is enrolled in app.
  • Lever difficult to turn: Check alignment and ensure latch isn't binding. Adjust strike plate if needed.
  • WiFi Bridge offline: Check bridge power and WiFi connection. Re-pair if necessary.
  • Handle loose: Tighten interior mounting screws securely.
