Gateway Won't Connect

Setup problems:

  • Ethernet first: Connect gateway via ethernet for initial setup
  • Abode app: Create account and follow app setup process
  • LED status: Check gateway LED for connection status
  • WiFi mode: Can switch to WiFi after initial ethernet setup
  • Factory reset: Reset button on gateway if needed

Sensors Not Responding

Sensor connectivity issues:

  • Battery: Check and replace sensor batteries
  • Range: Sensors communicate via RF - ensure gateway range
  • Z-Wave repair: Run Z-Wave network repair in app
  • Re-pair: Remove and re-add problem sensors
  • Interference: Move gateway away from interference sources

False Alarms

Reducing unwanted alerts:

  • Entry delay: Increase entry delay time in settings
  • Motion sensitivity: Adjust motion detector sensitivity
  • Pet immunity: Enable pet-immune mode for motion sensors
  • Door sensor placement: Ensure proper sensor/magnet alignment
  • Exit delay: Allow enough time to leave when arming

Camera Integration

Adding cameras to Abode:
