Amcrest video doorbells offer local storage and RTSP streaming. This guide covers connectivity and recording issues.

Doorbell Not Connecting to WiFi

  1. Amcrest requires 2.4GHz WiFi network
  2. Download Amcrest Smart Home app
  3. Press reset button until LED flashes
  4. Follow app QR code pairing process
  5. Keep phone near doorbell during setup

Wired Doorbell Power Issues

  1. Requires 16-24V AC transformer
  2. Verify transformer voltage with multimeter
  3. Some digital chimes incompatible
  4. Check wiring connections are secure
  5. Bypass existing chime if problems persist

No Motion Recordings

  1. Enable motion detection in app settings
  2. Adjust motion sensitivity (1-10 scale)
  3. Configure motion zones to focus area
  4. Check microSD card has space (local recording)
  5. Format card in device if corrupted

RTSP Stream Setup

  1. Enable RTSP in device web interface
  2. URL format: rtsp://user:pass@IP:554/cam/realmonitor
  3. Use substream for lower bandwidth
  4. Port 554 is default RTSP port
  5. Check firewall allows RTSP traffic

Home Assistant Integration

  1. Use Generic Camera integration with RTSP
  2. Amcrest integration available for some models
  3. Add camera with IP and credentials
  4. Motion events via ONVIF integration
  5. Two-way audio not supported via HA

Chime Not Ringing

  1. Mechanical chimes most compatible
  2. Test chime works with physical button
  3. App notifications can supplement chime
  4. Check volume settings in doorbell
  5. Add external chime if needed
