Anova sous vide cookers enable precision cooking with app control. This guide covers connectivity and heating issues.

Device Not Connecting via Bluetooth

  1. Bluetooth range is limited to 30 feet
  2. Enable Bluetooth and location on phone
  3. Keep phone near cooker during pairing
  4. Remove other Bluetooth devices temporarily
  5. Restart Anova app and try again

WiFi Setup Issues

  1. Anova requires 2.4GHz WiFi network
  2. Connect via Bluetooth first, then configure WiFi
  3. Enter WiFi password carefully (case sensitive)
  4. Factory reset: Hold button 15 seconds
  5. WiFi enables remote start and monitoring

Not Heating Water

  1. Ensure minimum water level above MIN line
  2. Check for airlocks - tilt cooker slightly
  3. Verify heating element isn't blocked
  4. Descale if heating is slow (white vinegar soak)
  5. Impeller should spin when running

Temperature Inaccurate

  1. Allow 10-15 minutes for temperature stabilization
  2. Use separate thermometer to verify
  3. Calibration offset available in app settings
  4. Place cooker in center of container
  5. Cover container to reduce heat loss

Alexa Integration

  1. Link Anova account in Alexa app
  2. "Alexa, set Anova to 135 degrees"
  3. "Alexa, start Anova" (must have water and be ready)
  4. Temperature in Fahrenheit by default
  5. Re-link if commands stop working

Error Codes

  1. E1: Water too low - add more water
  2. E2: Water too hot - add cold water
  3. E3: Temperature sensor error - contact support
  4. E4: Heating element issue - descale or contact support
  5. Blinking lights indicate different states
