Brilliant smart home panels combine lighting control with touch displays. This guide covers common issues.
Panel Not Connecting to WiFi
- Brilliant requires 2.4GHz WiFi network
- Must have neutral wire installed
- Panel needs strong WiFi signal (check location)
- Factory reset: Hold bottom buttons 10 seconds
- Try setup with mobile hotspot to test
Touch Screen Unresponsive
- Clean screen with microfiber cloth
- Restart panel by turning off breaker 30 seconds
- Check for firmware updates in app
- Screen protector can cause touch issues
- Perform factory reset if persistent
Lights Not Controlling
- Verify wiring matches load type (LED, incandescent)
- Minimum load may be required for dimming
- Disable dimming for incompatible bulbs
- Check breaker and neutral wire connection
- Use Brilliant-compatible LED bulbs
Camera/Motion Issues
- Camera privacy switch may be enabled
- Grant camera permission in Brilliant app
- Motion sensor has limited range (6-8 feet)
- Adjust motion sensitivity in settings
- Disable video doorbell mode if not using
Integration Problems
- Alexa: Re-link Brilliant skill in Alexa app
- HomeKit: Remove and re-add via Home app
- Google Home: Disconnect/reconnect in settings
- SmartThings: Use Works with SmartThings
- Home Assistant: Requires local API access
Intercom Not Working
- All panels must be on same WiFi network
- Microphone permission required in app
- Check volume isn't muted on panels
- Restart both panels if intercom fails
