Identifying the Issue

If your Dyson Pure Cool TP07 is not connecting to the MyDyson app or is displaying inaccurate air quality readings, you may see the Wi-Fi icon missing from the front display, the app showing the machine as offline, or the air quality metrics (PM2.5, PM10, VOCs, NO2) showing dashes or frozen values. These issues prevent remote control, scheduling, and real-time air quality monitoring through the app.

Common Causes

  • 2.4 GHz network unavailable: The TP07 only connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Router changes, band steering, or mesh network updates may eliminate or hide the 2.4 GHz band
  • Wi-Fi password changed: Any change to your network password requires the purifier to be reconnected through the MyDyson app
  • Firmware bug: Older firmware versions may have connectivity issues that Dyson has patched in later releases
  • Sensor obstruction: Dust, pet hair, or debris blocking the air quality sensor vents causes inaccurate or stuck readings
  • Filter not properly installed: If the HEPA+Carbon filter is dislodged or the plastic wrapping was not removed, the machine may show abnormal air quality data or reduced airflow
  • Bluetooth interference during pairing: Initial app pairing uses Bluetooth, which can fail if other Bluetooth devices are competing for connection

Step-by-Step Fixes

  1. Power cycle the purifier: Unplug the TP07, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in. This clears temporary software glitches and forces the machine to reattempt its Wi-Fi connection.
  2. Check the display: Look for the Wi-Fi icon on the TP07's front LCD. If it is missing or blinking, the purifier is not connected to your network. If the display shows dashes instead of air quality values, the sensors may be calibrating or obstructed.
  3. Verify your Wi-Fi network: Log into your router's admin panel and confirm a 2.4 GHz SSID is broadcasting. If your router combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under one name, try creating a separate 2.4 GHz SSID temporarily for the purifier.
  4. Reconnect through the app: Open the MyDyson app, select your TP07, and navigate to Wi-Fi settings. Re-enter your network credentials. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone to facilitate the connection handshake.
  5. Update firmware: In the MyDyson app, check for available firmware updates under your machine's settings. Install any updates and allow the machine to restart. Keep it plugged in during the update.
  6. Clean the sensors: The air quality sensors are located near the base of the machine. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the sensor openings. A quick burst of compressed air can dislodge fine dust particles. Avoid using any liquid cleaners.
  7. Check the filter: Open the outer covers on the base and inspect the HEPA+Carbon filter. Confirm that all plastic wrapping has been removed and that the filter is properly seated. If the filter life indicator in the MyDyson app shows 0% remaining, replace the filter.
  8. Reset the machine: Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to perform a factory reset. After the reset, re-pair the TP07 through the MyDyson app. You will need to reconfigure Wi-Fi, schedules, and preferences.

When to Contact Support

If the display remains blank or shows persistent error codes after power cycling and resetting, or if the air quality sensors continue to give incorrect readings after cleaning and firmware updates, contact Dyson customer support. The TP07 is covered by Dyson's standard warranty, and sensor or motor failures may qualify for repair or replacement. Have your serial number available when contacting support.

Prevention Tips

Dust the sensor vents on the base of the TP07 at least once a month. Replace the HEPA+Carbon filter when the MyDyson app indicates it has reached end of life — do not wait until purification performance visibly drops. Keep the machine on a stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and update the firmware whenever prompted. Running the purifier in Auto mode reduces unnecessary wear on the motor and filter by adjusting speed to actual air quality conditions. If you change routers or Wi-Fi settings, reconnect the TP07 immediately to maintain uninterrupted monitoring and control.
