eufy Security cameras offer local storage options with no monthly fees. This guide covers connectivity and recording issues for indoor, outdoor, and floodlight camera models.

Camera Not Connecting During Setup

Symptoms

  • QR code scan fails
  • Camera not found in app
  • Setup times out

Solutions

  1. Use eufy Security app - Download the correct eufy Security app (not eufy Clean or eufy Life).
  2. 2.4GHz WiFi - Most eufy cameras require 2.4GHz network. Some newer models support 5GHz.
  3. Reset camera - Hold reset button until you hear "Ready to connect" voice prompt.
  4. HomeBase required - Some models (eufyCam 3C) require HomeBase. Others connect directly to WiFi.
  5. Bluetooth enabled - Enable phone Bluetooth for initial pairing.

Camera Not Recording Events

Symptoms

  • Motion not triggering recordings
  • Events missing from timeline
  • Live view works but no clips

Solutions

  1. Check recording mode - Verify camera is armed and motion detection is enabled in settings.
  2. Storage check - Check HomeBase or camera local storage. Format SD card if needed.
  3. Motion sensitivity - Increase sensitivity in camera settings if missing events.
  4. Activity zones - Verify activity zones cover the areas you want monitored.
  5. Schedule - Check if recording is scheduled only for certain times.

Floodlight Camera (E340) Issues

Symptoms

  • Floodlight not activating
  • Light stays on constantly
  • Motion light sensitivity wrong

Solutions

  1. Check light settings - Configure motion light settings separately from camera motion in app.
  2. Light schedule - Adjust when lights can activate (usually dusk to dawn).
  3. Sensitivity - Adjust motion light sensitivity independently of camera sensitivity.
  4. Wiring check - Verify proper wiring at junction box (requires hardwired power).

Indoor Camera (S350) Issues

Symptoms

  • Pan/tilt not working
  • Dual-lens view issues
  • Privacy mode not engaging

Solutions

  1. Motor calibration - Camera may need calibration after setup. Restart to recalibrate.
  2. Lens selection - Toggle between wide and zoom lenses in live view.
  3. Privacy mode - Enable in settings to physically block lens when "at home" mode active.

HomeKit/Smart Home Integration

Symptoms

  • Not appearing in Apple Home
  • HomeKit Secure Video not working
  • Alexa/Google control issues

Solutions

  1. HomeKit compatible - Verify your camera model supports HomeKit (not all do).
  2. Enable in app - Enable HomeKit in camera settings, then scan code in Apple Home.
  3. iCloud+ for HSV - HomeKit Secure Video requires iCloud+ subscription.
  4. Alexa/Google - Link eufy Security skill/action in voice assistant app.

Battery and Solar Panel (Wireless Models)

Symptoms

  • Battery drains quickly
  • Solar panel not charging
  • Camera goes offline

Solutions

  1. Reduce sensitivity - High sensitivity means more recordings and faster drain.
  2. Limit live view - Frequent live streaming uses significant power.
  3. Solar placement - Panel needs direct sunlight for 4+ hours daily. Angle toward sun.
  4. Clean panel - Dust and debris reduce charging efficiency.
