Identifying the Issue

When your eufyCam 2C Pro wireless camera is not connecting to the HomeBase or not recording events, you may see the camera listed as "offline" in the eufy Security app, fail to receive motion alerts, find that recorded clips are missing from your event timeline, or get a "Connection Failed" error when trying to view the live feed. Since the eufyCam 2C Pro communicates wirelessly with the HomeBase 2, problems can originate from the camera, the HomeBase, or the wireless link between them.

Common Causes

  • HomeBase offline: If the HomeBase 2 loses its Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to your router, all cameras connected to it go offline simultaneously.
  • Camera too far from HomeBase: The wireless signal between the eufyCam 2C Pro and the HomeBase degrades over distance, especially through exterior walls, brick, and metal structures.
  • Low battery: As the camera's battery depletes, it reduces wireless transmit power and may drop its connection before the app displays a low-battery warning.
  • Storage full: If the HomeBase's internal storage is full and there is no USB drive for overflow, new recordings cannot be saved.
  • Firmware mismatch: The HomeBase and camera run separate firmware. If either is outdated, communication protocols may become incompatible.
  • Wi-Fi interference: Nearby devices operating on the same 2.4 GHz channel as the HomeBase can cause interference that disrupts the camera-to-HomeBase link.

Step-by-Step Fixes

  1. Check the HomeBase LED: Look at the HomeBase 2. A solid blue LED means it is connected. If the LED is red or off, unplug the HomeBase power, disconnect the Ethernet cable, wait 15 seconds, then reconnect both. Wait two minutes for it to fully reboot.
  2. Verify Ethernet connectivity: Ensure the Ethernet cable between the HomeBase and router is firmly seated at both ends. Try a different Ethernet port on the router or a different cable to rule out a physical connection issue.
  3. Power-cycle the camera: Press the sync button on the back of the eufyCam 2C Pro for two seconds to wake it from sleep. If it does not respond, the battery may be depleted — bring it inside and charge it fully via micro USB.
  4. Check battery level: In the eufy Security app, view the camera's settings to see the battery percentage. If it is below 15 percent, charge the camera fully before further troubleshooting. Use the included micro USB cable and allow five to six hours for a full charge.
  5. Reduce distance to HomeBase: If the camera is mounted more than 100 feet from the HomeBase or has multiple walls between them, move the HomeBase to a closer outlet or reposition the camera. During testing, place the camera in the same room as the HomeBase to confirm it can connect at close range.
  6. Check storage capacity: In the eufy Security app, navigate to the HomeBase settings and check storage status. If internal storage is full, delete old recordings or insert a USB flash drive for additional capacity. Enable auto-overwrite to prevent the storage from filling up in the future.
  7. Update firmware: Check for HomeBase and camera firmware updates in the app. Update the HomeBase first, then the camera. Keep the camera within close range of the HomeBase during firmware updates.
  8. Re-sync the camera: If the camera still does not connect, remove it from the app, then re-add it by scanning the QR code and pressing the sync button. This forces a fresh wireless pairing with the HomeBase.

When to Contact Support

Contact eufy support if the HomeBase LED never turns blue after multiple reboots and Ethernet cable swaps, if the camera will not sync even when placed directly next to the HomeBase with a full battery, or if recordings consistently fail to save despite available storage. Have your device serial numbers and firmware versions ready when reaching out.

Prevention Tips

Charge the eufyCam 2C Pro proactively when the battery drops below 20 percent. Position the HomeBase centrally in your home for the best wireless coverage to all outdoor cameras. Enable the auto-overwrite setting for storage so recordings continue even when capacity is reached. Insert a USB drive into the HomeBase as a backup storage extension. Keep both the HomeBase and camera firmware updated by periodically checking the eufy Security app for available updates.
