Problem Description

Your Eve Water Guard Leak Sensor is not detecting water leaks, not sending alerts, showing No Response in HomeKit, or the cable extension is not working.

Common Causes

  • Sensor cable not properly placed
  • Battery depleted
  • HomeKit connection lost
  • Sensing cable damaged
  • Thread or Bluetooth range issues

Solutions

1. Check Battery

  1. Open Eve app and find the sensor
  2. Check battery percentage
  3. Replace AAA batteries if below 20%
  4. Use quality alkaline batteries

2. Position Sensing Cable Correctly

  • Cable contacts must touch the floor
  • Place where water would pool (low points)
  • Cable can be extended for longer reach
  • Avoid placing on carpet (may not detect)

3. Test the Sensor

  1. Dip sensing cable contacts in water
  2. Sensor should alarm within seconds
  3. Check if alert appears in Home app
  4. If no detection, check cable connection

4. Check HomeKit Connection

  1. Open Apple Home app
  2. Look for sensor status
  3. If No Response, try removing and re-adding
  4. Scan HomeKit code on sensor

5. Improve Connectivity

  • Eve sensors use Thread if border router present
  • Add HomePod mini or Apple TV 4K for Thread
  • Otherwise uses Bluetooth with 30 foot range
  • Keep sensor within range of Home Hub

6. Factory Reset

  1. Remove batteries
  2. Press and hold button while inserting batteries
  3. Keep holding 10 seconds
  4. LED flashes to confirm reset
  5. Add to HomeKit again
