Identifying the Issue

If your Logitech Circle View Doorbell or Harmony Hub isn't connecting properly, the symptoms depend on the device. For the Circle View Doorbell, you may see "No Response" in the Apple Home app, the doorbell not ringing on your Apple devices, or live video failing to load. For the Harmony Hub, symptoms include the Harmony app not finding the Hub, Activities not triggering, or devices not responding to remote commands. Though these are very different products, connection issues for both often trace back to network problems.

Common Causes

  • Wi-Fi network changes: A new router, changed password, or switched network bands can disconnect both devices since they rely on Wi-Fi for communication.
  • Router configuration issues: AP isolation, MAC filtering, firewall rules, or band steering can prevent devices from communicating on the local network.
  • Power problems: The Circle View Doorbell needs 16-24V AC from your doorbell transformer. Insufficient voltage causes boot loops and connection failures. The Harmony Hub needs stable USB power.
  • Home hub offline (Circle View): The doorbell requires an Apple TV or HomePod home hub for notifications, recording, and remote access. If the hub is offline, the doorbell appears disconnected.
  • IP address conflicts: Both devices can lose connectivity if your router assigns conflicting IP addresses or if DHCP leases expire unexpectedly.
  • Firmware or software mismatches: Outdated firmware on either device, or outdated apps and phone operating systems, can cause pairing and connection failures.

Step-by-Step Fixes

  1. Restart the affected device: For the Circle View Doorbell, toggle the circuit breaker off for 10 seconds, then back on. For the Harmony Hub, unplug the USB power for 10 seconds and reconnect. Allow one to two minutes for the device to fully restart and reconnect to your network.
  2. Restart your router: Many connection issues are resolved by a simple router restart. This clears DHCP lease tables, mDNS caches, and temporary network state that may be blocking device communication. Wait for the router to fully boot before checking your devices.
  3. Verify Wi-Fi credentials: If you recently changed your Wi-Fi password or network name, the device won't reconnect automatically. For the Circle View Doorbell, you'll need to reset it and re-add it to the Home app with the new network. For the Harmony Hub, open the Harmony app and update the Wi-Fi settings.
  4. Check the Circle View Doorbell power: If the doorbell LED isn't lighting up, test the transformer voltage at the doorbell wires. You need 16-24V AC. Many older homes have 10V transformers that are insufficient. Replace the transformer if the voltage is too low.
  5. Verify the HomeKit home hub (for Circle View): Open the Apple Home app, go to Home Settings, and check that your home hub shows as "Connected." If the Apple TV or HomePod hub is offline, restart it.
  6. Reconnect the Harmony Hub to Wi-Fi: If the Harmony Hub lost its Wi-Fi connection, open the Harmony app and go to Hub settings. Select the option to change Wi-Fi network and re-enter your network credentials. If the Hub isn't found at all, make sure your phone is on the same network and try the setup process again.
  7. Check router settings: Disable AP isolation (also called client isolation or wireless isolation) in your router settings — this feature prevents devices on the same network from communicating with each other, which breaks both HomeKit and Harmony Hub connectivity. Ensure multicast and mDNS traffic isn't being blocked.
  8. Factory reset as last resort: For the Circle View Doorbell, hold the button for 10 seconds until the LED flashes rapidly, then re-add it in the Home app. For the Harmony Hub, press and hold the reset button on the back with a paperclip until the LED blinks, then set it up again through the Harmony app.

When to Contact Support

Contact Logitech support if the Circle View Doorbell won't power on with confirmed 16-24V wiring, if the Harmony Hub's LED never illuminates after a power cycle, or if either device can't be factory reset. Note that the Harmony line has been discontinued by Logitech, so support options for the Harmony Hub may be limited to community resources.

Prevention Tips

  • Assign static IP addresses to both devices through your router's DHCP reservation feature to prevent IP conflicts and disconnections.
  • Keep your router firmware updated to maintain compatibility with HomeKit and the Harmony Hub's network requirements.
  • For the Circle View Doorbell, verify your transformer voltage is within spec before installation to avoid power-related boot loops.
  • For the Harmony Hub, place it where it has strong Wi-Fi signal and stable USB power to prevent intermittent disconnections.
