Nanoleaf 4D uses a camera to sync LED strips with TV content. This guide covers common sync and color issues.
Camera Not Detecting TV
Camera setup issues:
- Camera placement: Center camera below or above TV
- Distance: Camera needs to see entire screen
- Angle: Adjust camera angle to capture full display
- Lighting: Works best in dimmer environments
- Calibration: Run screen calibration in app
Colors Don't Match
Color accuracy issues:
- Calibration: Run color calibration in Nanoleaf app
- TV settings: Adjust TV color settings if too saturated
- Zone mapping: Check zones are mapped correctly to strip sections
- Brightness: Match LED brightness to content
Sync Delay or Lag
Latency issues:
- Normal delay: Camera-based sync has inherent delay (~100ms)
- WiFi: Ensure stable WiFi connection
- Processing: Strong lighting changes sync better than subtle
- HDMI sync box: Consider Nanoleaf HDMI Sync Box for lower latency
Lightstrip Placement
Installation tips:
- Behind TV: Mount strips on back of TV
- Spacing: Even spacing around edges
- Corners: Handle corners carefully
- Zone assignment: Assign strip zones to screen areas
Screen Mirroring
Using with different content:
- Movies: Cinematic content works great
- Games: Gaming has some delay
- Music visuals: Complements music videos
- Desktop: Can mirror computer screens too
