Sonoff offers affordable WiFi and Zigbee smart home devices. This guide covers common issues with Sonoff products.
WiFi Device Won't Connect
eWeLink app pairing issues:
- eWeLink app: Download eWeLink app for Sonoff device setup
- Pairing mode: Hold button until LED blinks rapidly (usually 5+ seconds)
- Compatible mode: If quick pairing fails, try Compatible Pairing Mode in app
- 2.4GHz only: Sonoff WiFi devices only work on 2.4GHz
- Password: Keep WiFi password simple during initial setup
Zigbee Bridge Issues
For Sonoff Zigbee Bridge:
- Bridge online: Ensure bridge shows online in eWeLink first
- Add devices: Put Zigbee device in pairing mode, then add via bridge in app
- Range: Keep Zigbee devices within range - add mains-powered devices to extend mesh
- Tasmota: Bridge can be flashed with Tasmota for local Zigbee2MQTT use
- Dongle alternative: Sonoff Zigbee USB dongle works directly with HA/Zigbee2MQTT
Zigbee Sensors Not Responding
SNZB sensor issues:
- Battery: Replace CR2450 or CR2032 battery
- Re-pair: Hold button to reset and re-pair to bridge
- Distance: Keep within range of bridge or Zigbee router devices
- Interference: Move bridge away from WiFi router and USB 3.0 devices
NSPanel Touchscreen Issues
For NSPanel and NSPanel Pro:
- Setup: Follow eWeLink app instructions for initial WiFi setup
- Thermostat mode: Configure temperature control settings in app
- Custom firmware: NSPanel supports custom firmware like NSPanel Lovelace UI
