If your Wyze camera shows offline in the app or will not connect to your WiFi network, this guide covers the most common solutions.
Why Wyze Cameras Go Offline
- WiFi signal too weak
- Router changed or password updated
- Camera firmware issue
- Power supply problem
- App needs to be updated
How to Get Your Wyze Camera Back Online
Power Cycle the Camera
- Unplug the camera from its power source
- Wait 30 seconds
- Plug it back in
- Wait 1-2 minutes for it to reconnect
Restart Your Router
- Unplug your router from power
- Wait 30 seconds
- Plug it back in
- Wait 2-3 minutes for it to fully restart
- Check if the camera reconnects
Check WiFi Signal Strength
In the Wyze app, go to the camera settings and check the signal strength. If it shows 2 bars or less, move the camera closer to your router or add a WiFi extender.
Update the Wyze App
Go to Account tab in the Wyze app, tap About, and check your app version. Update to the latest version if available.
Factory Reset the Camera
- Remove the microSD card if one is installed
- Press and hold the setup button on the camera
- Keep holding until the status light turns solid yellow
- Release when the light starts flashing yellow
- Set up the camera again in the Wyze app
Check Your WiFi Settings
Wyze cameras only work on 2.4GHz WiFi networks. If your router combines 2.4GHz and 5GHz under one name, the camera may have trouble connecting. Try creating a separate 2.4GHz network.
