Aqara FP1 Human Presence Sensor

The Aqara FP1 Human Presence Sensor uses millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar technology to detect human presence in a fundamentally different way than traditional PIR motion sensors. While PIR sensors can only detect movement, the FP1's radar can sense the subtle motions of a person sitting still, breathing, or even sleeping. This enables automation scenarios that were previously impossible, such as keeping lights on while you read a book or turning off the TV only when you actually leave the room.

Operating at 60GHz frequency, the FP1 features a 120-degree horizontal detection angle with a range of up to 5 meters, covering approximately 25-35 square meters depending on installation location. The sensor distinguishes between presence and absence with high accuracy while ignoring pets, curtains, and other non-human motion sources. Wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted installation options provide flexibility for different room configurations.

The FP1 requires USB power (5V/1A via USB-A) and connects to your smart home through an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub. Compatible hubs include the Hub M2, Hub E1, Hub M1S Gen 2, Camera Hub G2H Pro, and Camera Hub G3. Through these hubs, the FP1 integrates with Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and can be bridged to Matter ecosystems. Response time for presence detection is under 500 milliseconds.
