Aqara FP2 Presence Sensor

The Aqara FP2 Presence Sensor represents the next evolution in human presence detection, featuring advanced zone detection capabilities that allow it to monitor up to 30 different areas within a single room simultaneously. Using 60GHz millimeter-wave radar technology, the FP2 can not only detect whether someone is present but also track their position within defined zones and even count the number of people in each area. This enables sophisticated automations like turning on specific lights based on which part of the room you're in.

Unlike most Aqara devices, the FP2 connects directly via 2.4GHz WiFi rather than requiring a Zigbee hub, simplifying setup and reducing potential points of failure. The sensor features a 120-degree horizontal field of view with detection range up to 5 meters, covering rooms up to 40 square meters when ceiling-mounted. The integrated bracket allows 15 degrees of vertical adjustment for optimal positioning, and the 360-degree rotating head provides flexibility in horizontal alignment.

Powered via USB-C (5V 2A required), the FP2 offers direct integration with Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa without needing an intermediary hub. The zone detection feature currently works fully in Apple Home and Aqara Home, with limited support in other platforms. Fall detection capability alerts caregivers when a fall is detected, making it valuable for elderly monitoring applications. The FP2 supports OTA updates for ongoing feature improvements.
