Aqara Motion Sensor

The Aqara Motion Sensor is a compact Zigbee PIR motion detector with a wide 170° detection angle for triggering automations and alerts. This sensor requires an Aqara hub (M2, M1S, or E1 recommended) and provides Apple HomeKit, Alexa, and Google Home integration. The magnetic mount enables flexible placement on walls, ceilings, or shelves.

The passive infrared sensor detects motion up to 7 meters away with adjustable sensitivity through the Aqara app. The wide detection angle covers rooms effectively from corner or ceiling placement. Light level sensing enables automations that only trigger lights when the room is dark.

HomeKit automation enables sophisticated triggers—turn on lights when motion is detected at night, send alerts when motion occurs while away, or trigger scenes based on room occupancy. Battery life extends to approximately two years from a CR2450 cell.
