The Bosch Smart Home Motion Detector II [+M] is a professional-grade motion sensor that works with both the Bosch Smart Home ecosystem and Matter-compatible platforms thanks to its dual-protocol radio module supporting Thread and Zigbee. The sensor detects motion within an impressive 43-foot (13-meter) range and meets EN Grade 2 security certification standards. A pet filter ignores movement from animals up to 31 inches (80cm) tall to prevent false alarms from dogs and cats.

A distinctive feature is the integrated orientation light that automatically illuminates when motion is detected and turns off 30 seconds after the last detection, providing convenient nighttime guidance without separate smart bulbs. Within the Bosch Smart Home system connected to the Hub II controller, the sensor provides additional functionality including temperature and brightness measurements for environmental automation triggers. When used with Matter via Thread, only motion detection and light functions transfer to the Matter ecosystem.

The sensor includes tamper detection with a demolition alarm that triggers even if forcibly removed from the wall. Installation is flexible with battery power (no wiring required) and mounting options for walls or corners. The 90-degree detection angle covers large rooms effectively from a single sensor. Integration with the Bosch Smart Home app enables custom automation rules, activity history, and remote monitoring.
