IKEA TRADFRI Motion Sensor

The IKEA TRADFRI Motion Sensor is a wireless PIR motion detector that triggers smart lights when movement is detected. Ideal for hands-free lighting in hallways, closets, and bathrooms, the sensor automatically turns on lights when you enter and off after a configurable timeout period. The small, battery-powered design mounts anywhere without wiring.

The sensor uses Zigbee protocol and can pair directly with up to 10 light sources for hub-free operation - lights activate immediately when motion is detected without requiring a hub or cloud connection. When connected to DIRIGERA hub, the sensor gains expanded capabilities including triggering any smart device, not just lights.

Configurable settings through the IKEA Home smart app include sensitivity, timeout duration, and which devices to trigger. The built-in daylight sensor can limit activation to low-light conditions only, preventing unnecessary triggering during daytime. Powered by two AAA batteries with approximately 1-year lifespan. Mount using included hardware or the magnetic back plate.
