IKEA VALLHORN Motion Sensor

The IKEA VALLHORN Motion Sensor is an advanced wireless motion detector with IP44 splash-proof rating for indoor and sheltered outdoor use. The sensor features a built-in lux (ambient light) sensor that enables intelligent triggering only when lighting is actually needed, reducing unnecessary activations during daytime. Detection range extends up to 10 meters in open air.

The sensor uses Zigbee protocol and can pair directly with up to 10 smart lights for hub-free operation. When connected to DIRIGERA hub, VALLHORN gains expanded capabilities including triggering any smart device, customizable automations, and remote status monitoring. The smart sensing prevents lights from turning on when sufficient ambient light exists.

IP44 classification makes VALLHORN suitable for bathrooms, covered porches, and other areas with occasional moisture exposure. Powered by two rechargeable LADDA AAA batteries for sustainable operation. The compact design mounts easily using included hardware. Compatible with Home Assistant through ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT, and with SmartThings via edge drivers.
