SwitchBot Motion Sensor (Matter)

The SwitchBot Motion Sensor with Matter support detects movement using passive infrared (PIR) sensing with broad smart home platform compatibility through Matter certification. This battery-powered sensor triggers automations and notifications when motion is detected within its coverage area.

Matter over WiFi connectivity (through SwitchBot Hub 2, sold separately) enables native integration with Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings. Create motion-triggered automations in any connected platform—turn on lights when entering rooms, trigger security alerts, or activate cameras when movement is detected.

The integrated light sensor adds ambient brightness detection for smarter automations—trigger lights only when motion is detected in darkness, not during daylight hours. Adjustable sensitivity helps reduce false triggers from pets or environmental factors while maintaining reliable detection of human movement.

The compact design mounts on walls, ceilings, or shelves using the included stand or adhesive. The 110° detection angle and 9-meter range cover typical room sizes. Battery-powered operation provides months of use with user-replaceable batteries. The SwitchBot app provides detailed settings, motion history, and integration with other SwitchBot devices. Home Assistant compatible via Matter or SwitchBot API.
