Aqara Contact Sensor T1

The Aqara Contact Sensor T1 is a Zigbee 3.0 door and window sensor that detects the open/closed state of doors, windows, cabinets, and other openings. The sensor consists of two pieces: the main body containing the electronics and a small magnet that triggers detection when within range. With its sleek, minimalist design measuring just 40.5 x 23.5 x 11mm for the main body, the T1 blends seamlessly into any home environment.

Powered by a CR1632 battery with an expected lifespan of over two years under normal usage, the T1 communicates reliably with your Aqara hub using the energy-efficient Zigbee 3.0 protocol. The sensor supports over-the-air firmware updates, allowing Aqara to improve functionality and add features without requiring device replacement. Operating temperature range spans -10 to 55 degrees Celsius with humidity tolerance up to 95% RH.

The Contact Sensor T1 integrates with major smart home platforms including Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings through a compatible Aqara hub. Common automation use cases include triggering lights when doors open, sending alerts when windows are left open, monitoring medicine cabinets for elderly care, or integrating with HVAC systems to pause heating/cooling when windows are opened.
