What's in the Box

Your Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni package includes the robot vacuum and mop, the OMNI Station with auto-empty and auto-wash functionality, a pre-installed dust bag, two mop pads attached to the robot, a side brush (pre-installed), a cleaning solution bottle, the station's power cord, and a quick-start guide. The X8 Pro Omni features powerful suction and Ecovacs' advanced TrueMapping navigation with AIVI obstacle avoidance for thorough, intelligent cleaning.

Prerequisites

Before setting up your Deebot X8 Pro Omni, confirm the following:

  • A flat, hard-surface area near a power outlet for the OMNI Station, with at least 2 feet of clearance on each side and 3 feet in front
  • Access to tap water for the station's clean water tank
  • A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (5 GHz is not supported)
  • The ECOVACS HOME app downloaded on your smartphone
  • An ECOVACS account ready to use

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Set up the OMNI Station: Place the dock against a wall on a hard floor. Avoid placing it on carpet, as the mop-washing function uses water that could cause damage. Plug in the power cord and turn the station on.
  2. Prepare the water tanks: Remove the clean water tank from the station and fill it with tap water to the maximum line. Add Ecovacs cleaning solution to the designated slot if desired. Ensure the dirty water tank is empty and properly seated.
  3. Unbox the robot: Remove all packaging materials, tape strips, and protective foam from the Deebot X8 Pro Omni. Verify the side brush and mop pads are installed. Check that nothing is blocking the main brush roller on the underside.
  4. Dock the robot: Place the robot onto the OMNI Station's charging contacts. The robot should begin charging immediately — the status lights on the robot and station will indicate charging is in progress. Charge fully before the first use, which takes approximately 3 hours.
  5. Open the ECOVACS HOME app: Launch the app and sign in. Tap the "+" button to add a new robot and select "Deebot X8 Pro Omni" from the device list.
  6. Pair and connect to Wi-Fi: Follow the app's instructions to put the robot in pairing mode — typically by pressing and holding the auto button until you hear a confirmation tone. Connect the robot to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network by entering your password in the app.
  7. Start the mapping run: Initiate the first cleaning session through the ECOVACS HOME app. The robot will use its LiDAR sensor to map your home, navigating room by room. Allow it to access all areas — open doors and remove obstacles that might block its path during this initial run.
  8. Customize the map: After mapping, review the floor plan in the app. Label rooms, draw no-go zones or virtual walls, and set per-room preferences for suction power, water flow, and cleaning mode (vacuum only, mop only, or both).

Smart Home Integration Tips

The Deebot X8 Pro Omni integrates with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Link your ECOVACS account in the Alexa or Google Home app to enable voice commands like "Start cleaning the kitchen" or "Send the robot home." Use the ECOVACS HOME app to set up automatic cleaning schedules based on room and day of week. Enable the auto-empty and auto-wash features on the OMNI Station so the robot is always ready for the next cleaning cycle without manual intervention.

Quick Troubleshooting

If the robot does not pair, ensure you are on a 2.4 GHz network and that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone during setup. If the map is incomplete, close doors to unmapped rooms and run a second mapping session — the robot will add new areas to the existing map. If mopping leaves streaks or is too dry, increase the water flow setting in the app. Check the mop pads for wear and replace them when they become thin or discolored. For charging issues, wipe the robot's charging contacts and the station's contact pins with a dry cloth to ensure a good connection.
