What's in the Box
The Roborock Saros Rover package includes: the Saros Rover robot vacuum with integrated camera and AI navigation, the docking station, a power cable, side brush, mopping pad, dust bags, cleaning solution, and the quick start guide. Confirm all items are present and in good condition before you begin.
Prerequisites
Make sure the following are ready before starting setup:
- A 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz WiFi network with a reliable internet connection
- The Roborock app installed on your iOS or Android phone
- A flat surface near a wall outlet for the docking station, with at least 1.5 feet of space on each side and 4 feet of clearance in front
- Floors picked up and free of small items, loose wires, and pet toys for the initial mapping run
Step-by-Step Setup
- Position the docking station: Set the dock against a wall on a hard, level floor. Plug in the power cable. Fill the clean water tank and add Roborock cleaning solution to the reservoir. Install a fresh dust bag in the auto-empty compartment.
- Unbox and prepare the robot: Remove all protective films, foam inserts, and packaging tape from the Saros Rover. Install the side brush on the underside by pressing it firmly onto the mounting spindle. Attach the mopping pad to the magnetic mount on the bottom of the unit.
- Charge the Saros Rover: Place the robot on the docking station to begin its initial charge. The status LED will pulse while charging. Let the battery reach a full charge, which typically takes 4 to 5 hours, before running the first cleaning session.
- Connect through the Roborock app: Open the Roborock app and tap "+" to add a new device. Choose "Roborock Saros Rover" from the available devices. Follow the step-by-step pairing instructions in the app. When prompted, hold down the power button on the robot until it announces it is ready to pair.
- Create your home map: Start a mapping run from the app. The Saros Rover uses its onboard camera and AI-powered navigation to build a detailed map while identifying furniture, obstacles, and room boundaries. The advanced object recognition system helps the robot navigate around items intelligently. Keep all doors open for a complete map.
- Set up cleaning zones and preferences: Once the initial map is complete, open it in the Roborock app. Name each room, configure suction and mopping intensity per room, draw no-go zones around areas to avoid, and set no-mop zones for carpets. Create scheduled routines for daily or weekly automated cleaning.
Smart Home Integration Tips
The Saros Rover supports Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Siri Shortcuts for voice-activated control. Open the Alexa or Google Home app and search for the Roborock skill or integration, then link your account. You can then issue commands like "Alexa, tell Roborock to clean the living room" or "Hey Google, start the vacuum." iOS users can create Siri Shortcuts from within the Roborock app. The Saros Rover also works well in broader smart home routines — for example, you can set it to begin cleaning when a smart sensor detects everyone has left the house.
Quick Troubleshooting
If the robot is not discovered during app pairing, reset WiFi by holding the power and home buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. Ensure your phone is on the same WiFi network the robot should connect to. If the camera-based navigation seems inaccurate during early runs, ensure the camera lens is clean and free of smudges or protective film. For dock-related issues with auto-emptying or mop washing, verify that tanks are properly seated and the dust bag has room. Check the Roborock app for firmware updates after setup to benefit from the latest navigation and AI improvements.
