What You'll Need
- iRobot Roomba j9+ robot vacuum
- Clean Base Auto-Empty Dock (included)
- iRobot Home app on smartphone
- 2.4GHz WiFi network
- Flat surface for dock placement
Step-by-Step Setup
- Position Clean Base: Place against wall with 1.5ft side clearance and 4ft front clearance.
- Connect dock power: Plug in the Clean Base. Indicator light shows it's ready.
- Unpack robot: Remove all packaging and protective materials.
- Charge Roomba: Place on dock. Ensure charging contacts align. Battery light pulses while charging.
- Download iRobot Home: Get the app and sign into your iRobot account.
- Add Roomba: Tap "+" then "Roomba." Select j9+ from the list.
- Connect WiFi: Hold Home and Spot buttons until WiFi light blinks. Enter your network password.
- Mapping run: Send robot on initial mapping mission. It learns your home over several runs.
- Name rooms: After mapping, customize room names and set cleaning preferences.

Troubleshooting
- Not charging: Clean charging contacts on robot and dock with dry cloth.
- Bumping into objects: Clean front camera lens. Ensure adequate lighting in rooms.
- Base not emptying: Check bag is properly installed. Replace when "bag full" notifies.
- Incomplete maps: Ensure all room doors are open during mapping runs.
- Error messages: Check app for specific error. Most resolve with restart or cleaning sensors.
