What You'll Need

  • Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max
  • TV with HDMI port
  • Wi-Fi network name and password
  • Amazon account

Step 1: Connect the Hardware

Plug the Fire TV Stick directly into an HDMI port on your TV. If space is tight, use the included HDMI extender cable. Connect the USB power cable to the Stick and plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.

Important: Use the included power adapter plugged into a wall outlet. USB ports on TVs may not provide enough power.

Step 2: Set Up the Remote

Insert the included AAA batteries into the Alexa Voice Remote Enhanced. Turn on your TV and switch to the correct HDMI input. The remote should pair automatically. If not, press and hold the Home button until the LED flashes.

Step 3: Follow On-Screen Setup

Select your language and connect to your Wi-Fi network. The Fire TV Stick will download and install any available updates - this may take a few minutes.

Step 4: Sign In to Amazon

When prompted, sign in to your Amazon account. You can:

  • Scan the QR code with your phone for quick setup
  • Visit amazon.com/code on any device and enter the displayed code
  • Enter your email and password directly using the remote

Step 5: Set Up TV Controls

The Alexa Voice Remote can control your TV's power and volume. Follow the on-screen prompts to configure these features by confirming you can hear test sounds.

Step 6: Personalize Your Experience

Choose which streaming apps to install. You can always add more apps later from the Amazon Appstore.

Features

  • 4K Ultra HD: Stream in stunning 4K resolution with HDR support
  • Wi-Fi 6E: Faster, more reliable streaming on compatible networks
  • Alexa Voice Remote: Search, play, and control with your voice
  • Ambient Experience: Display artwork, photos, or Alexa widgets when idle

Troubleshooting

  • No picture: Try a different HDMI port; use the extender cable if space is tight
  • Remote not pairing: Remove batteries, wait 10 seconds, reinsert and hold Home button
  • Can't find Wi-Fi network: Move the Stick closer to your router; check if it's a 2.4GHz network
  • Buffering issues: Check internet speed; Wi-Fi 6E requires a compatible router
