How to Set Up Your Belkin Soundform Elite

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Place the speaker on a flat surface. The top of the Soundform Elite doubles as a Qi wireless charger, so pick a spot where you will naturally drop your phone.
  2. Connect the power cable. The wireless charging feature requires the speaker to be plugged in at all times.
  3. Download the Google Home app and sign in with your Google account.
  4. Add the device:
    • Tap "+" then "Set up device" then "New device"
    • The app discovers the Soundform Elite over Bluetooth
    • Confirm the device when it plays a sound
  5. Connect to your Wi-Fi network when prompted.
  6. Set up Google Assistant preferences and link your music services.

Placement and Sound Tips

The Soundform Elite packs Devialet speaker technology with SAM (Speaker Active Matching), which pushes impressive bass and clarity from a compact body. Place it on a nightstand, desk, or kitchen counter where you can take advantage of both the audio and the built-in wireless charger.

It sounds best on a hard surface where the downward-firing woofer can create some resonance. Avoid placing it on carpet or soft materials. Keep it a few inches from walls for cleaner bass. The speaker fires sound outward in a semi-omnidirectional pattern, so it does not need to be aimed directly at you.

The Devialet audio technology delivers more bass than you would expect from a speaker this size. If it feels too bass-heavy for your taste, you can adjust the equalizer settings in the Google Home app.

Wireless Charging

The top surface is a 10W fast wireless charger compatible with any Qi-enabled phone. Just place your phone centered on top and charging begins automatically. An LED indicator shows when charging is active. iPhones charge at up to 7.5W and most Android phones at up to 10W.

For the best charging connection, remove thick phone cases. Cases thicker than about 3mm can prevent wireless charging from engaging. If your phone has a case with a metal plate for a magnetic car mount, that will also block wireless charging.

Smart Home and Multi-Room

With Google Assistant built in, the Soundform Elite controls anything in your Google Home ecosystem. Lights, thermostats, locks, and other smart devices respond to voice commands. Create speaker groups in the Google Home app to play music on multiple speakers at once. AirPlay 2 support also lets you stream from Apple devices and group with other AirPlay speakers.

Troubleshooting

  • Wireless charging not working: Make sure your phone is centered on the top of the speaker. The charging coil is in the middle. Remove thick cases or cases with metal plates. If your phone still does not charge, verify that it supports Qi wireless charging.
  • Google Assistant not responding: Check that the microphone is not muted. The LED indicator changes when the mic is off. Also verify that the speaker has an active Wi-Fi connection in the Google Home app.
  • Setup fails or speaker not found: Restart the speaker by unplugging it for 10 seconds. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone during setup. Close and reopen the Google Home app if it gets stuck.
  • Audio quality seems off: Give the speaker room to breathe on all sides. The Devialet woofer pushes a lot of air and needs space. Also check the EQ settings in the Google Home app and try resetting them to default.
  • Factory reset: Press and hold the mute button on the speaker for 10 or more seconds until the LED flashes. The speaker will restart and enter setup mode.
