Step-by-Step Setup
- Set up HomeBase 3 first: Connect the HomeBase to your router using the included Ethernet cable. Plug in the power adapter. Wait for the LED to turn solid blue (about 2 minutes).
- Download the eufy Security app: Install and sign in or create an account.
- Add HomeBase to app: Tap "+" → "HomeBase 3." Scan the QR code on the bottom of the HomeBase or enter the serial number manually.
- Charge the camera: Use the included solar panel or USB-C cable to fully charge the eufyCam 3 before installation.
- Add the camera: In the app, tap "+" → "eufyCam 3." Follow the prompts to scan the camera's QR code.
- Sync camera to HomeBase: Press the SYNC button on the HomeBase, then press the SYNC button on the camera within 2 minutes. Wait for the pairing to complete.
- Choose mounting location: Select a spot with good sun exposure if using the solar panel. The camera should be 7-10 feet high for optimal face detection.
- Install the mount: Secure the mounting bracket with screws. Attach the camera and adjust the angle.
- Connect solar panel (if included): Mount the solar panel in direct sunlight and connect it to the camera.

Troubleshooting
- HomeBase not connecting: Ensure Ethernet cable is securely connected to router. Try a different router port. Restart your router if needed.
- Camera won't sync: Move camera closer to HomeBase during initial sync. Press SYNC buttons in correct order (HomeBase first). Check that HomeBase LED is solid blue.
- Facial recognition not working: Add faces in the app under "Face Recognition" settings. Ensure camera height provides clear face views. Lighting must be adequate.
- Solar panel not charging: Verify panel receives direct sunlight. Clean the panel surface. Check cable connection between panel and camera.
- 4K playback stuttering: 4K streaming requires strong Wi-Fi. Use 1080p for smoother remote playback. Local playback via HomeBase is faster.
