What's in the Box

Your eufy Security eufyCam 3 package includes the camera unit (or multiple units in multi-camera kits), the eufy HomeBase 3 (S380), an Ethernet cable, a HomeBase power adapter, a magnetic mounting bracket, screws and wall anchors, a USB-C charging cable, and a quick-start guide. The eufyCam 3 features 4K resolution, an integrated solar panel for self-charging, BionicMind AI facial recognition, and local encrypted storage on the HomeBase 3 with an expandable hard drive bay.

Prerequisites

Download the eufy Security app and sign in or create an account. The eufyCam 3 requires the HomeBase 3 (S380) for local processing, storage, and smart home integration. You need an Ethernet port on your router and a power outlet for the HomeBase. Fully charge the camera via USB-C before installation — the initial charge takes about three hours. Choose an outdoor mounting location with three or more hours of daily direct sunlight for the camera's integrated solar panel to keep the battery charged indefinitely.

Step-by-Step HomeBase 3 Setup

  1. Place the HomeBase 3 near your router. Connect it via the included Ethernet cable and plug in the power adapter.
  2. Wait for the HomeBase LED to show solid blue, indicating it is connected and ready.
  3. Open the eufy Security app, tap "+," and select "HomeBase 3 (S380)." The app will detect the HomeBase on your network automatically.
  4. If you have a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive for expanded storage, install it into the bay on the bottom of the HomeBase before completing setup. The app will prompt you to format the drive.

Step-by-Step Camera Setup

  1. Fully charge the eufyCam 3 using the USB-C cable before mounting. The LED indicator turns green when charged.
  2. In the eufy Security app, tap "+" and select "eufyCam 3." Press the sync button on the camera when prompted.
  3. The camera pairs with the HomeBase 3 wirelessly. A voice prompt confirms successful pairing.
  4. Name the camera and assign it to a location. Configure recording resolution (up to 4K), detection sensitivity, and BionicMind facial recognition settings if desired.

Outdoor Mounting

Screw the magnetic mounting bracket into your exterior wall, eave, or soffit at eight to ten feet high. The eufyCam 3 snaps onto the bracket magnetically for easy removal when manual charging is needed. Angle the camera slightly downward for optimal human detection range of 25 to 30 feet. Orient the camera so the integrated solar panel on top receives direct sunlight — avoid deep overhangs or north-facing walls that remain in shade. The camera is IP67 weatherproof and operates in temperatures from negative four degrees to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.

Smart Home Integration Tips

The eufyCam 3 supports Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit via the HomeBase 3. HomeKit Secure Video is available, providing iCloud-encrypted recording and Apple-native person, vehicle, animal, and package detection. Add the HomeBase to your Apple Home app using the setup code found in the eufy Security app. All cameras connected to the HomeBase will appear in HomeKit automatically. For Alexa and Google, link your eufy account to stream live 4K feeds to Echo Show and Nest Hub displays respectively.

Quick Troubleshooting

If the camera does not pair, ensure it is fully charged and within 15 feet of the HomeBase during setup. If the solar panel is not keeping the battery charged, verify the panel receives direct sunlight and clean it with a soft cloth to remove debris. If BionicMind facial recognition does not identify known faces, re-register the faces in better lighting conditions and add multiple photos from different angles for improved accuracy. If the HomeBase is not detected during setup, try a different Ethernet port on your router and ensure your phone is on the same network.
