What You'll Need

  • Eve Shutter Switch
  • Tubular roller shutter motor (230V)
  • Neutral wire required
  • iPhone/iPad with Home app
  • Screwdriver
  • Voltage tester

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Turn off power: Switch off the circuit breaker for the shutter circuit.
  2. Remove existing switch: Unscrew and disconnect the current shutter switch.
  3. Identify wires: Locate line (live), neutral, and motor wires (up and down directions).
  4. Wire the Eve Shutter Switch:
    • L → Line (live)
    • N → Neutral
    • ↑ → Motor up wire
    • ↓ → Motor down wire
  5. Mount the switch: Install in the electrical box and attach the faceplate.
  6. Restore power: Turn the circuit breaker back on.
  7. Open Apple Home app: Tap "+" → "Add Accessory."
  8. Scan HomeKit code: Find the code on the switch or packaging.
  9. Calibrate: Run the calibration to set fully open and closed positions.
  10. Test operation: Verify up/down buttons and app control work correctly.

Key Features

  • Control roller shutters via HomeKit
  • Physical up/down buttons retained
  • Position control (0-100%)
  • Scheduling and automation
  • No bridge required
  • Bluetooth/Thread connectivity
  • Works with Siri
  • Energy-efficient standby

Troubleshooting

  • Motor doesn't move: Check wiring—up and down wires may be swapped. Verify motor receives power. Test motor directly to confirm it works.
  • Calibration fails: Ensure shutter can reach physical end stops. Run calibration again. Check for obstructions.
  • Position inaccurate: Recalibrate. Ensure motor has proper end limits set. Position sensing is time-based, so motor speed matters.
  • HomeKit won't pair: Ensure within Bluetooth range. Reset switch by turning power off for 10 seconds. Try pairing again.
  • Physical buttons not working: Check wire connections. Verify switch is receiving power. Test without Home connection.
