Step-by-Step Setup

Plan Installation: Measure and plan where the LED strip will go. The 16.4ft strip can be cut at marked intervals if shorter length is needed.
Clean Surface: Wipe down the mounting surface with a dry cloth to ensure good adhesion.
Apply LED Strip: Peel the adhesive backing and press the strip firmly onto your surface.
Connect to Power: Plug the LED strip into the controller, then connect the controller to power.
Download Govee Home App: Install the app and enable Bluetooth.
Initial Pairing: Open the app, tap (+), and pair the M1 strip via Bluetooth first.
Connect to Wi-Fi: Enter your Wi-Fi credentials to enable cloud features.
Add to Matter Network: In the Govee app, find the Matter QR code or setup code. Open your Matter controller app (Apple Home, Google Home, etc.) and scan the code to add the device.
Assign to Room: In your Matter controller, assign the lights to the appropriate room.

Matter pairing fails: Ensure your Matter hub firmware is up to date. Reset the strip and try pairing again.
Strip not responding: Check all cable connections. Verify controller has power (LED indicator should be lit).
Colors look wrong: Adjust color calibration in the Govee app. Different surfaces reflect colors differently.
App shows offline: Reconnect to Wi-Fi in Govee app. Matter devices may still work locally via your hub.
Adhesive failing: Clean surface with alcohol before reapplying. Use mounting clips for extra security.
Factory reset: Hold the power button on the controller for 5-10 seconds until the lights flash.
