The sound radiates from the lower section of the lamp, roughly at seated ear level when the lamp is on the floor. This positioning actually works well for music listening, since the sound is right at the level where you typically sit.

Place the lamp where you would normally put a floor lamp: next to a couch, beside a reading chair, or in a corner of the room. Since the speaker is at the base, corners can boost the bass a bit. If it sounds too boomy in a corner, pull it out a foot or so.

The bamboo and textile design fits most living spaces without looking like an obvious tech gadget. The lamp shade diffuses light nicely, and the LED bulb is replaceable if it burns out.

Light and Speaker Controls

The light and speaker are controlled independently. Touch the base to toggle the lamp on and off. Music playback is controlled through the Sonos app, voice commands (if you have another smart speaker in the room), or AirPlay 2 from Apple devices.

• Light not working but speaker works: The LED bulb may need to be reseated in its socket, or it may have failed. Try a replacement LED bulb. Touch the base to toggle the light. The light and speaker use separate circuits, so one can work without the other.
• Sound muffled by lamp shade: The speaker fires from the lower section, not through the shade. If sound seems off, make sure nothing is placed against or on top of the speaker area at the base of the lamp.
• Not found during setup: Check that the speaker section has power (the LED should be visible). Unplug the entire lamp for 10 seconds and plug it back in, then try the Sonos app again.
