Step 1: Position the Speaker
Place the JBL Authentics 500 on a stable, flat surface. Allow some space around the speaker for optimal sound. Connect the power cable and plug into a wall outlet.
Step 2: Power On
Press the power button to turn on the speaker. The speaker will enter setup mode on first boot.
Step 3: Download the JBL One App
Download and install the JBL One app from the App Store or Google Play. Connect your phone to your Wi-Fi network.
Step 4: Connect to Wi-Fi
Open the JBL One app and follow the instructions to connect your speaker to Wi-Fi. The app will guide you through the network selection and password entry.
Step 5: Set Up Voice Assistants
The Authentics 500 supports both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa simultaneously. Follow the app prompts to set up one or both voice assistants by signing into your accounts.
Step 6: Connect Music Services
Link your preferred music streaming services within the JBL One app. This allows for easy playback of your favorite music libraries.
Bluetooth Pairing
To connect via Bluetooth without Wi-Fi: Put the speaker in pairing mode (check manual for button sequence). On your device, go to Bluetooth settings and select "JBL Authentics 500." The LED turns solid white when connected.

Troubleshooting
