What You'll Need

  • NVIDIA Shield TV Pro
  • High-speed HDMI 2.0 cable
  • TV with HDMI port (4K HDR recommended)
  • Wi-Fi network or Ethernet cable
  • Google account

Step 1: Connect to Your TV

Turn off your TV. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the Shield TV Pro and the other end to an HDMI port on your TV or receiver. Turn on your TV and select the correct HDMI input.

Step 2: Connect Power

Connect the power adapter to the Shield TV Pro and plug it into a wall outlet. The device will power on automatically.

Step 3: Connect Network (Optional)

For wired connection, connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the Ethernet port on the Shield TV Pro. If using Wi-Fi, you'll configure it during setup.

Step 4: Pair the Remote

The Shield Remote comes pre-paired. Simply press the Select button to begin setup. If using the Shield Controller, press the 'A' button to turn it on.

Step 5: Follow Setup Wizard

Select your language and follow the on-screen prompts. If not using Ethernet, select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

Step 6: Sign In to Google

Enter your Google account credentials. This gives you access to the Google Play Store, your apps, saved games, and personalized recommendations. While optional, signing in unlocks the Shield's full potential.

Step 7: Install Apps

Visit the Google Play Store to download streaming apps, games, and utilities. Popular apps include Netflix, Disney+, Plex, and GeForce NOW for cloud gaming.

Adding Accessories

To pair Bluetooth accessories: Go to Settings > Remote and accessories > Add accessory. The Shield will scan for nearby Bluetooth devices.
