Step-by-Step Setup
- Set up Base Station first: Connect Ethernet to your router and plug in power. Wait for the light ring to turn green.
- Download Ring app: Install and sign in to your Ring account.
- Add Base Station: Tap "Set Up a Device" → "Security Devices" → "Base Station." Scan the QR code on the bottom.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow prompts to connect the base station to your network (Ethernet recommended but Wi-Fi works).
- Add Keypad: Tap "+" → "Keypads" → scan QR code. Mount near your main entry. Configure your access code.
- Add Contact Sensor: Tap "+" → "Contact Sensors" → scan QR code. Install on a door or window. Test by opening/closing.
- Add Motion Detector: Tap "+" → "Motion Detectors" → scan QR code. Mount 7 feet high in a corner for best coverage.
- Add Range Extender: Plug into an outlet between the base station and distant sensors. It pairs automatically.
- Set up entry/exit delay: Configure how long you have to arm/disarm before the alarm triggers.
- Test the system: Arm in "Away" mode and test each sensor.

Troubleshooting
- Base Station light colors: Green = online. Red = no internet. Blue = updating. White spinning = setting up.
- Sensor not pairing: Scan QR code carefully. Pull battery tab completely out. Move closer to base station during setup.
- Keypad not responding: Check battery level in app. Re-pair if needed. Ensure it's within range of base station.
- Motion detector false alarms: Avoid pointing at windows or heat sources. Adjust sensitivity in app. Mount 7ft high pointing parallel to traffic flow.
- Range issues: Use the included Range Extender. Check Z-Wave network health in app. Add additional extenders for large homes.
